Thick Stair Treads

We offer thick wood Stair Treads in thicknesses from 1 1/2" all the way up to 4 inches thick! Over 20 different wood species are available including Red Oak, White Oak, Hickory, Maple, Brazilian Teak, Brazilian Walnut, Brazilian Cherry, and many more domestic and exotic hardwoods from around the world.  Even Rift & Quarter Sawn White Oak and Red Oak treads are available in thicknesses up to 4 inches.

All of our thick stair treads are Made in America using premium quality kiln-dried hardwoods and proven manufacturing methods to ensure our treads will serve your needs for many years to come. These treads are a product of glue-ups, meaning the depth of the tread is achieved by edge-gluing multiple planks of wood together. This is not a cost-saving technique, but instead it is a method to increase the stability of the product, since a single piece of lumber as large as a stair tread is highly susceptible to warping, cupping, etc if conditions are not perfectly maintained.
